The Water and Sewer Department of Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking a new staff member to carry out the maintenance and operation of Council’s water and sewer infrastructure including the treatment plants, pump stations and reticulation systems.

Ideally you will have completed a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations, or equivalent, but we will consider applicants that have been working in a related field or have experience in manual labour work. The Position may offer a significant training opportunity for the successful incumbent, with Council offering training in Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and/or training opportunities associated with treatment facility operations as Council’s business requires.
Apart from skills and experience, we need a staff member that is hard working, punctual and prepared to have a go at whatever job is thrown their way. We need a person that can work independently and also able to get along with other people working in a team.
This position works 76 hours (over nine days) each fortnight and has been classified as a Grade D – F with a base salary range of $47,712 to $59,173 per annum (plus Superannuation).
Recruitment may be possible at either Level 1, 2 or 3 Water and Sewer Operator Position Descriptions. The salary for the position will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
The position will require participation in a roster to provide out of hours and on call services to meet Council’s operational and customer service obligations. Where work is required out of normal hours, penalty rates and industry allowances, in addition to the salary detailed above, apply.
