The Transplant Assistant is responsible for the coordination of pre and post transplant clinical and clerical support and community outreach.
Knowledge and Skills:
Education: High School Education or GED eqivalent.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage deadlines. Strong planning and coordination skills, and ability to work independently and exercise good judgement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Professional manner needed to interact with physicians, staff, outside agencies, patients and families. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Ability to follow verbal and written instruction. Fast, accurate typing skills and knowledge of proper formats. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Professional telephone manner and ability to take accurate messages. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Prefer certification as American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical
Assistant of American Medical Technologists (AMT).
