Regional Business Analyst – Agriculture – Wilbur-Ellis Company – Great Falls, MT

General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Wilbur-Ellis is seeking a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst is responsible for managing the financial activities and business analysis within the selected Area’s. Through the development and implementation of creative and efficient tools that provide unique analysis of the business, the Business Analyst is key in assisting managers and salesmen evaluate the financial impact of business decisions on respective locations, and the selected Area’s as a whole.


Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in dealing with sensitive information including salaries and business confidential financials
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office applications and in particular outstanding skills in Excel
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with demonstrated track record in business analysis and financial understanding
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a Business related field
  • Willingness to travel and be away from home (estimated travel = 25%; but, may be 2-3 days at times)

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Responsibility to conduct business in accordance with Company policy and code of ethics
  • Provide financial and analytical support to Area and Branch Managers
  • Annual budgeting process, including coordination and review
  • Financial forecasts
  • Capital request preparation assistance and evaluation/review
  • Low performing operations analysis and recommendations
  • Manufacturing and service costing analysis and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain internal management and tracking reports
  • Work cooperatively with Division Support Groups (Credit, Finance, Regulatory, and Supply Chain) to improve processes, prodive and analyze information, make recommendations and coordinating implementation
  • Ensure compliance and consistent application of accounting practices and Company Policies and Procedures
  • Provide financial training to Area and Branch Managers
  • Manage and/or participate on projects to enhance Geography and company profitability
  • Develop and perform financial analysis of proposed acquisition candidates
  • Assist R&D/Marketing group to model and evaluate new product opportunities
  • Help analyze money usage and work with Area Managers to improve
  • All other duties as assigned
