We are currently looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team. Now is an exciting time to join Tandem!
The Payroll Manager is responsible for providing accurate and timely processing of company’s payroll, ensuring compliance of the Group’s regulatory and reporting obligations, both internally and externally. This is a part time, 3 day per week (Tue preferred, Thu/Fri required) job share role with one other part time Payroll Manager. This is a hands on role with no direct reports.
What you’ll be doing:
Responsible for the end-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll(s), including the following: uploading banking files, checking timesheet data and processing increases and adjustments.
On-going maintenance of and working with varied payroll systems, including ensuring payroll tax rates are current for all states/territories.
Ensuring integrity of all payroll records via regular maintenance, including entering new starters and interpreting awards/agreements and contracts when necessary.
Timely processing of weekly, manual and permanent invoicing, ensuring maintenance of all reports are kept current.
Preparing, reconciling and making timely payment of monthly superannuation and payroll deductions
Effectively preparing and reconciling month- and year-end PAYG statements.
Maintaining workers compensation coding within systems.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and undertaking relevant training where necessary.
Undertaking any other required reporting, both for internal and statutory reporting.
Continuously maintaining the Payroll Procedural Manual.
What we’re looking for:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full function Payroll Officer role.
Practical application and knowledge of payroll legislation and processes, i.e. tax, superannuation and an ability to interpret awards.
Be attentive to detail and monitoring adherence to company standards.
Be dependable/reliable and follow through on commitments, producing timely work to required- or higher-standards, and pitching in to get the job completed with a strong customer service focus.
Demonstrate excellent and effective communication skills by listening, transmitting accurate information and actively seeking feedback.
Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Knowledge of Single Touch Payroll.
Demonstrate excellent numerical ability and data entry skills.
Assist with development, implementation, and documentation of internal controls. Why you should apply
