The Opportunity:

We are looking for a dynamic Director of Marketing for North America who will be responsible for developing and executing highly effective field and channel marketing programs to build awareness, drive demand, create and nurture leads, and build and accelerate pipeline. You will manage the North America field marketing managers and work closely with the regional sales team as well as corporate teams to help them achieve pipeline and bookings targets. You will understand regional target segments, designing account-based program plans, executing demand generation campaigns and events, and leveraging customer and partner (VAR, Distributor, Alliance, Service Provider) relationships in the regions.

You will report to the VP of Marketing and be based at our corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.


What you will do:

  • Create, and manage all field and channel marketing strategies and program plans for the North American (NAM) region in collaboration with the NAM Sales VPs and regional sales leaders.
  • Recruit and lead a highly effective group of field/channel marketers using the sales mentality of setting goals, forecasting and working a pipeline of leads and dollars
  • Through your team, define, project manage and host activities with customers, partners, prospects, and industry thought leaders.
  • Evaluate industry events and programs for their ability to generate sales interest and pipeline. Use these events to build the brand, develop sales pipeline, and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with corporate demand generation and marketing team to execute campaigns and lead nurturing for the regions
  • Track campaigns and report metrics as well as overall ROI to the internal stakeholders
  • Participate in regular regional marketing and sales reviews – present impact of marketing efforts on sales pipeline, identify gaps in strategy, and revise marketing strategies to fill gaps
  • Manage regional field marketing budgets and align program investment with NAM business goals

  • Optimize activities within multiple sales strategies (e.g. major accounts and enterprise accounts)
  • Collaborate with people and teams in other functions including global, corporate and local towards common business goals
  • Able to think strategically, but also have exceptional attention to detail in execution. Able and willing to be a hands-on leader
  • Leadership in go-to-market planning and execution including resellers, system integrators, distributors, service providers and technology alliances
  • Superior skill finding, negotiating and planning with vendors. Building strategic relationships with vendors that yield higher than average return.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines and objectives
  • Getting things done – both well & quickly

Your Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
  • 10+ years in a marketing leadership role, ideally in the networking industry
  • Channel background with a history of partner program development and joint marketing
  • Experience and track record of building field marketing plans that yield higher than average pipeline
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to create business results in a fast-paced environment
